How to use PDF Grader PRO

PDF Grader Pro User Guide

PDF Grader Pro is a powerful PDF grading tool designed for teachers. You can write and grade directly on PDFs just like paper exams, while automatically calculating scores and managing grades.

1. Starting a Project

📄 Import PDF

  • Launch the app and tap the [Start New Grading] button to import your exam PDF file.
  • You can configure the page layout settings based on whether the document is single-sided or double-sided.

👥 Setup Student List

  • Enter the names of the students directly or copy and paste them from an Excel/text file.
  • The answer sheet PDF will be automatically duplicated and prepared according to the number of students.

2. Setting Grading Criteria (Rubric)

✅ Question & Points Setup

  • Question Setup: Set the number of questions and the points assigned to each question.
  • Partial Scores: Define detailed rubric criteria for partial credit for each question.

💯 Model Answers & Area Setup

  • Set Answers: Configure correct answers for multiple-choice or short-answer questions for reference during grading.
  • Set Grading Areas: Designate the specific area on the PDF where each question is located. When grading, the view will automatically zoom in to that area for convenience.

3. Grading Process

✍️ Writing & Tools

  • Pen/Highlighter: Use an Apple Pencil to naturally mark answers (Check/Circle) or write comments on the PDF.
  • Stamps: Quickly deduct or award partial points using preset stamps (e.g., -1, -5, Perfect, etc.).

🧮 Automatic Score Calculation

  • The total score is calculated in real-time based on the points assigned to each question and any deduction stamps used.
  • The total score can be automatically written at the top of the PDF or in a designated location.

4. Result Management & Export

📊 Grade Report & Statistics

  • Once grading is complete, view statistics such as the score distribution, average score, and correct answer rate for each question.

📤 Export

  • Export to Excel: Export the scores for each question and the total score for all students into an organized Excel file.
  • Share Individual Results (.pdfgc): Generate individual result files (.pdfgc) for each student and share them via KakaoTalk or Email.
    • Students can view their graded results instantly using the free 'PDF Grade Connect' app.
